The woman who lived in this condo before we did was old. And she had old tastes, manifested mostly by the fact that almost every room has wallpaper in it. After steaming off all the junk on the entryway and bathroom, I have come to the conclusion that there is no force on this earth powerful enough to persuade me to wallpaper--ever. That was one of the most disgusting and infuriating projects, and only the desire to tear down more wallpaper that is old and hideous (and all over this house) will induce me to undertake the project again.
See what I mean:

(Entryway--no, we did not steam off all the wallpaper with our humidifier. We were just curious...)
(That's fabric, folks--she took the same fabric she made her drapes from and actually had it wallpapered to the wall. Insanity.)

(Bathroom)
After removing, replacing, and tearing apart this particular area, we ended up with this:

Much better. And while the project is by no means perfect (this was, after all, both mine and Chris's first time removing wallpaper, repairing dry wall, and painting), it is by leaps and bounds better than what it was.
